The Culture · Issue 01 · October

From the chair, to the world.

Fashion, music, art, design and grooming, curated by EYEGASMS. The barbershop has always been where culture gets talked about first; this is where we keep talking.
A gallery opening at night: a silver-haired Black man in an oxblood knit polo, a Latina woman in a bone silk set, a South Asian man in an espresso suede overshirt and a woman with a platinum pixie cut laugh together beside a stone sculpture.
Three classmates in a concrete architecture studio, a South Asian woman, a young Black man with cornrow braids and a red-haired young man, in color-blocked oxblood, bone and forest-green rugby polos embroidered with the EYEGASMS wordmark.

Style

The Creative Class.

Imagine an institution for people who make things: its own uniform, its own sportswear, its own way of travelling. The Creative Class is how EYEGASMS dresses the New Gentleman: a standard, not a gender, and anyone can share it.

The MainStage: a long open barber floor in a concrete-and-travertine building, walnut and brass stations with leather chairs; a Black barber fading a client, a Latino barber lining up a beard and a woman barber cutting with scissors.

Grooming

The Grooming House.

Born from barber culture, inspired by the modern gentleman, open to everyone who invests in how they show up. This is the place we're building. It isn't open yet.

A young Black man with cornrow braids relaxes in a leather barber chair, eyes closed, as a tattooed barber finishes his beard line with a straight razor; a bone cape printed with the EYEGASMS wordmark, steam from a hot towel, walnut and brass.

Grooming

The ritual before the room.

A hot towel, a straight edge, a quiet minute in the chair. Grooming is how you get ready to be seen.

A Black woman with a fresh, glossy silk press smiles in a private styling studio as her stylist lifts the last section with a comb.

Grooming

Every texture, every craft.

A skin fade, a silk press, a fresh retwist. Different hands, the same standard: precision, patience and the moment you see yourself in the mirror.

A Black woman with close-cropped natural hair walks through a travertine terminal in a cropped espresso letterman with tan leather sleeves and the bone chenille circle-E patch, high-waisted stone trousers and black loafers, carrying an espresso weekender.

Style

Cut for her.

The architectural letterman, re-cut. Same espresso wool, same leather, same patch: proportions made for her. For now the pieces live in these pictures, not in a store.

Art & Music

Culture creates connection.

From the barbershop to the gallery opening: the music, art and design our community can't stop talking about, and the rooms where they meet.

The Creative Class

The New Gentleman, dressed.

An imagined institution for people who make things, with its own uniform. The pieces live in our pictures for now: editorial only, not for sale.

The Tailored Warm-Up
