First, Houston.

We're in prelaunch. The proposed search area is the Heights / Washington Corridor. We won't publish an address or opening date until they're secured, so there's nowhere to visit just yet.

Neighborhood

Where we open matters. Who we open with matters more.

A barbershop has always been a neighborhood institution. We choose locations the way a resident chooses a chair, and we plan to show up for the community around us.

How we choose a location

  • Barber culture already lives thereWe go where people already care about a great cut, and where independent barbers want to build.
  • A street, not a stripWalkable, visible and easy to reach, with parking and transit that work for clients and residents.
  • Neighborhoods with characterDiverse, creative, growing places with local businesses we'd want as neighbors.
  • A building that fitsSecond-generation space that takes the modular studio system without fighting it.

How we plan to show up

  • Local barbers firstWe cast residents from the neighborhood and the city first. MainStage is an on-ramp for newer local barbers building a book.
  • Local artists on the wallsThe art in every lounge is commissioned from local artists and credited by name.
  • The lounge, open to the communityBarber education nights, small-business mixers, back-to-school cuts and community moments, hosted in the Social Lounge.
  • Neighborhood partnersCoffee, menswear, fitness and local causes: we'd rather partner with the businesses next door than replace them.

03 — When we open

How visiting will work.

Arrival: a man checks in on a tablet at a black ribbed desk with a line of light at its base while a smiling barber with braids and tattoos steps out of her glass studio to greet him; a cobalt painting hangs behind.
Concept renderingCheck-inTablet check-in; your barber is notified
Is this a barbershop?

It's the barbershop, reimagined: independent resident barbers in private studios and on MainStage, around a social lounge. You come for your barber and you're welcome to stay for the game, the music and the conversation.

Do I need a membership?

No. There's no membership gate. Once we open, anyone can walk in or request an appointment.

How do I choose a barber?

Each resident will have a profile with their specialties, portfolio, prices, durations and availability. You choose; no one is assigned to you.

Are walk-ins guaranteed?

No. Each barber controls whether they take walk-ins and when. Check their availability, or send a request.

When is my appointment confirmed?

When your barber accepts your request, unless that barber has chosen automatic booking. Until then it's a request, and we'll always tell you which one you have.

What do services cost, and what are the hours?

Each resident sets their own services, prices and hours. Venue hours will be published before opening.

To be confirmed

Can I have a quiet, private appointment?

Yes. Every Private Residency has a glass slider. Ask your barber to close it for a private session.

How do I check in?

At the iPad stations on the lit wall facing the front door. Check in, find your barber or join the waitlist; your barber is notified and you can settle into the lounge.

Where is it, and where do I park?

Houston. Our proposed search area is the Heights / Washington Corridor; the address, parking and accessibility details will be published once the location is secured.

To be confirmed

Can I buy the products my barber uses?

That's the plan. EYEGASMIC will be available at The Bar, a smart vending kiosk in the entry, on the Media Wall shelving and later online. The line is in development and not for sale yet.

Who handles cancellations or a concern about a service?

Your barber runs their own business and sets their cancellation policy. For anything about the venue itself, contact concierge@eyegasms.com.
